Story Behind the Design...

My gung-gung (grandpa) loved the track. I've heard the story of my dad playing hooky and going to the track so many times. Dad skips school to place bets on horses at the track and shockingly runs into gung-gung in the stands. He’s busted, right? Surprisingly the first words that came out of gung-gung mouth were "so... what horse did you bet on?" And with his infamous smirk, of course.

There's a moment of relief in that story. Getting caught red handed, the guilt twisting in your stomach. But then that stony face turns into a smirk, flipping the drama into a prideful, father-son moment to retell.

This hat is dedicated to that memory.
